Please contact us at this address with any questions about data protection or to exercise your rights.

2. Principle

We process personal data only to the extent necessary to operate this website, answer your enquiry and provide our services, and we comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

3. Visiting this website and hosting

This website uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking services and loads no third-party content. Fonts, images and videos are delivered directly from our own web server.

When you visit the website, our hosting provider stores technically necessary information in server logs (e.g. IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type). This data is used solely to keep the website secure and stable and is not combined with other data.

Hosting: Infomaniak Network AG, Geneva, Switzerland. The website and the server logs are stored in data centres in Switzerland. The connection is encrypted (HTTPS).

4. Contact form and email

When you write to us using the contact form or by email, we process the information you provide:

  • required: first name, last name, email address, phone number
  • optional: nationality, current permit, canton, deadline, your request
  • optional attachments (e.g. copies of ID documents or permits, decisions) as PDF, JPG, PNG, HEIC or DOCX

Purpose: to answer your enquiry, clarify your request and, where applicable, prepare an engagement.

Transmission: Your information and attachments are forwarded in encrypted form via our web server (Infomaniak, Switzerland) directly to our business mailbox at Microsoft 365. Your information and attachments are not stored on the website or the web server. To protect against misuse, we store an encrypted identifier of your IP address for no more than 24 hours. Attachments are automatically scanned for malware by Microsoft Defender.

Your documents may contain sensitive personal data (for example information on official proceedings). Please only send what is necessary for your enquiry. We treat all information confidentially.

Retention: If no engagement results, we delete your enquiry including attachments after 12 months. If an engagement results, section 5 applies.

5. Clients (engagements)

To carry out an engagement, we process the data required for it (contact details, information on your request and proceedings, documents, deadlines, services, invoices and payments). This data is stored in our business Microsoft 365 environment (email, SharePoint).

We keep business records such as invoices and receipts for 10 years as required by law. Other engagement documents are deleted once they are no longer needed for the engagement or any claims.

6. Service providers (processors)

We use carefully selected service providers who process data only on our behalf and according to our instructions:

  • Infomaniak Network AG, Switzerland – website hosting
  • Microsoft (Microsoft 365: email, calendar, SharePoint, security scanning by Defender) – data is stored in data centres in Switzerland
  • Infomaniak (Swiss Backup), Switzerland – data backup
  • IT support in Switzerland – setup, maintenance and security of our systems; bound by confidentiality

7. Disclosure abroad

Our data is stored in Switzerland. In the case of Microsoft, access from abroad, including from the USA, cannot be ruled out in individual cases for maintenance, support or security purposes. Microsoft is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the Swiss Federal Council has recognised as providing adequate data protection; Microsoft's contractual data protection terms also apply.

We do not disclose your data to third parties unless you consent, it is necessary for your engagement (e.g. submissions to authorities on your behalf), or we are legally obliged to do so.

8. Data security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, in particular encrypted transmission, two-factor authentication for all business accounts, restricted access rights and regular backups.

9. Your rights

You may at any time request information about the personal data we process about you and ask for it to be corrected, deleted or handed over in a common format, unless statutory retention obligations prevent this. Please write to info@laukeimmigration.ch. For your security, we may ask for proof of identity.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch).

10. Changes

We may amend this privacy policy. The version published on this website applies.

This is a translation. In case of discrepancies, the German version prevails.
